Now an adult at 22, KC is starting to feel disillusioned by the army. He looked around, and the only people that didn't get promoted during their first term of service were either the dead beats, the trouble makers, or those who pissed off one of the higher ups. It is for this reason, and the fact that he really didn't like being ground-side for extended periods of time, something he had to do in the army, that he mustered out. He still dreamed of being a part of a ship crew, just like his dad. However, he wasn't sure if his father was disappointed in him for getting out so soon, so rather than ask his dad to contact some people and maybe get him into the Navy, he instead went down and applied to be a merchant Marine. At least it would still be working on a ship.

Note: Post edited to fix a mistake in skills and to account for house rule
Phew, squeaked by another roll with bare minimum. Guess I used up most of my luck at the beginning, but at least I am still holding on
So, Merchant Marine training.
Skills: Steward: 0 (Finally learned how to cook)
Time to gain some education (Merchant Marine specialist table):
PVE7pQFw
And time to check his Survival. (Edu 5+)

Note: Edited fluff text to reflect the change made due to house rule.
Well, on the up side, he learned how to pilot a space craft. On the downside, well, here comes the grief roll.

A sudden war destroys your trade routes and contacts, forcing you to flee that region of space. Gain Gun Combat (any) 1 or Pilot (any) 1. We'll say that while you were planetside you had to fight off some beasties and barely escaped.
Also, you only get one of those base skills if its not your first term. After that you just do skills and training rolls.

I believe I will be going with Pilot. It was a crash course in piloting the smaller craft as we had to flee the system. We got back in a small jump ship or shuttle, with the main ship having been damaged by the beastie attack. (The Army, his old unit actually, went in and salvaged the ship). Luckily, those few of us who survived were not charged with the cost of the ship, as they couldn't manage to pin the blame on us, but it is also the reason KC was forced to seek employment elsewhere.
Soo...I have to leave the career and lose my benefits roll for this term.
Guess he will be looking for another career
Let's take a look at the character so far
