[I'll just throw out some possible connections and we can see what works.] billroper --In our most recent term we could have worked together during the medical emergency; me, representing civilian authorities tasked with assisting the Navy's relief effort. I like it! Suggestions on skills from which to choose one to Level in this crossover could be Admin, Broker, Comms, or Diplomat. @sirguido any issues with any of these?

I like Comms: that seems to capture the emergency nature of the event. It also occurs to me that something like Science(biology) would be appropriate. Cryn at least may have picked up some basic knowledge dealing with the crisis. @sirguido: Do the skills from connections have to be new to both characters? Or can they be extra ranks in an existing skill?

[I'll just throw out some possible connections and we can see what works.] Thanks for tracking all of this, KC (Genhuman) ! I was looking at the same connection between Cryn and KC, although I prefer to think that Cryn had no problems with cake-baking; it was Bedmaking 102 that he couldn't pass :-). How about we served on the same vessel for a while. And then we cross paths again in our most recent term: perhaps I worked, per my connection with the Senator from the agricultural sector, to get a steady supply of produce for your business. Nothing too criminal: just fast-tracking paperwork for an old shipmate. Cake baking, bed making, the details are fuzzy. It was so long ago after all. Though everyone is still wondering why in the world you had a cake in bed with you... I think that sort of connection works. Considering that SirGuido is trying to keep this as contained to ONE ship as he can, we probably worked at the same 'merchant company' as opposed to on the same ship, but this time, it really is just semantics (Not to mention, that may change by game start). I like the idea that we didn't stay in contact, and only through a chance meeting did a business relationship start up during the last term. KC: "Don't worry, I remember the deal. Don't ask you how you managed to get me fresh tomatoes during the off cycle, and you won't have to tell me," he says with a smirk during the handshake. My steward is maxed out (at least at max level for PC generation) so that is out, but I am willing to go with any other skill you may want. Just pick what you think appropriate, list it here, and assume I say yes.

[Suddenly Cryn’s personality has taken a turn to the...diffferent.] I was thinking Broker would be appropriate for two ex-Merchies who are engaged in business.

ericfromnj What skill do you think that we might have cultivated in our ill fated interaction? ^.^ Does it have to be the same skill for both of us? For better or for worse I figured piloting would be the one I chose, even though I gloriously screwed it up.
If it is the same, let me see.

Hey Eric. Maybe the battle Miles was stuck in during his third term was also the one where I was commanding a fire team. Maybe we helped get you out at the time?
I am perfectly fine with this.

Yup, we share a skill...

Could we have crossed paths during this time, possibly "representing" buyers and sellers for the purloined goods Cryn was moving? We could both have the same crime boss as an Ally (or maybe rival crime bosses), or we engaged in some crime together in the next terms. billroper --In our most recent term we could have worked together during the medical emergency; me, representing civilian authorities tasked with assisting the Navy's relief effort. Anybody else? Hi Cryn, that sounds interesting. I had an idea of Val getting involved in various things legal and illegal in his wandering to make ends meet, so I can see us working together to move some goods. What skill were you thinking? I feel that Deception is probably a good choice for shady dealings, although i suppose Diplomat or Broker might also fit. I considered maybe a specific skill (like Explosives) for dealing in a specific commodity, but that might be a bit too on the nose?

Yup, we share a skill... Hmm... quoting myself.... ^.^ I think that Piloting could work for both of us, actually.... From my vantage, down in the pit, I saw you pull off some new maneuver, that in my time convalescing after I figured out how to perform.

I do have two skills from connections already, though. @sirguido, how do you want to handle this? Easy. You don't get a skill. You can take as many connections as you want, but you only ever get a total of two skill ranks.
