I think Deception or Broker would probably be appropriate. Explosives would be a fun twist: we were moving MGC-10 and had to make sure it didn't go boom. I do have two skills from connections already, though. @sirguido, how do you want to handle this? Easy. You don't get a skill. You can take as many connections as you want, but you only ever get a total of two skill ranks. Or, I don’t take a skill rank but Nathan 'Val' Valentine does?

Joseph Romanoff How about a connection during your fourth term (return to the police force) my third term (spent time as a social worker helping victims)? I'm thinking maybe Streetwise for a skill. You have any suggestions?

Hey Nathan 'Val' Valentine - In your first term I see you had a life event where “Something good happens to the character; he comes into money unexpectedly, has a lifelong dream come true, gets a book published or has some other stroke of good fortune.” Did you have an idea for what this was? I need to have interviewed some people around the ship that also became Contacts and I’d like to line this up with some PCs as opposed to all NPCs. I could have written an article for The Homesteader Companion (a folksy, feel good eNews site she worked at then as a journalist) about it.

Hey KC (Genhuman) - I see in your first term, you had an event that “While the ship was near a planet and retrieving supplies from the surface, they somehow got embroiled in a war that was happening on the surface. He made it through without a scratch.” I’d like to have had Yara interview you for a Homesteader Heroes human interest piece for The Homesteader Companion where she was writing at the time. It would allow our characters to have crossed paths and also for me to have you as a Contact. Is that ok with you?

Hey Joseph Romanoff - I see in your first term (my second) you had a mishap where, while on patrol, you accidentally shot a teenager eith a stunner. Tthe teen wasn't killed, but he did suffer some nerve damage from the shot. This resulted in Joseph was brought before the Inquiry Board and having to leave the force. You noted that the incident was very public, so perhaps I wrote an article on the human aspect of it - the remorseful younbg rookie trying to live up to expectations and what happens now - non-judge mental and actually a bit supportive of the difficulties of law enforcement. As I’ve noted in some previous posts, I rolled a ton of Contacts in my events and would like some of those slots taken up by players. What do you think?

Young man in the army, a pretty girl wanting to talk to him, and then talked to him again other times after the initial interview when she needed a 'military man's opinion' on other pieces, yes, I can see how that made us contacts. Also, if you want, we could have reconnected again with you just getting out of your military service. My character, I am seeing as being somewhat like a 'Celebrity Chef' type in his current lifestyle. So, he has resources and connections with those on high as he is still a 'noble' and he also has need of persons with Administrative and organization skills to get things done in his 'Cafe/Restaurant/Catering' type business.

Year 4192 – Current Year. This is where the GM gets to screw with us. Year 4187 thru 4191 So, I noticed that this term has 5 years in it. Is that a typo?

I could have written an article for The Homesteader Companion (a folksy, feel good eNews site she worked at then as a journalist) about it. Hey billroper, so my guy was in the army in that and the following term. I got something good in the first, and lost a limb in the second in a brutal ground war. One of my mustering-out rolls got me +1 Soc (which took me to a heady 5), so I figured that my character, Val (being from the underdecks) joined the military to get out. He tested well in his service exam, so a career in the Support branch beckoned, and thus Val ended up in the Fighting 95th, "First In, Last Out", a spearhead battalion which specialises in making planetfall and creating a beachhead for following troops. I figured his +1 Soc came from the good fortune of a favourable post in his CO's command support group. Maybe a "local boy done good" piece? In Val's second term, the 95th are cut off by a previously undetected and vicious insectoid race who overrun their initial base, Val losing his left arm below the elbow in the fighting. Maybe you were embedded with the 95th?

Nathan 'Val' Valentine This seems spot on. I could even see the positive piece being something that may have helped his SOC standing along with the posting to his CO’s command support group. You’re still a contact of mine in some way... hm...
